wow, this is an hard task.
i'll do my best but i can't promise that i can reach the goal...
we've given the whole instructions to a lecturer to find the most fauxpas. to translate this in english or france (i can not speach/write/understand only one word of france, sorry ) is a nice quest to me .
pleace be patient this will take a while.
the basic story behind:
one dragon per player.
the thiefs leave the game.
to bring the dragon on the field you have first to build a dragonlair (one ore, one clay)
the lair must be build to one of your citys.
this combination is later called a ceremonial castle.
after you roll a seven you can put the dragon in the lair.
the basic rules to take cards away by a seven are still belive in the game.
the dragonlair performes as an expansion to the amount of cards you can hold. (like the citywalls).
all actions the dragon perform will cost a sheep as food for the beast.
to fly over one field will cost one sheep.
to fly over two fields will cost two sheeps and so on.
begin a fight with a knight or an other dragon will cost one sheep.
burn down a road or settlement will cost one sheep + the recources from the "fire of destruction"
the fight with the babarian didn't cost anything.
if you where attacked by a hostile dragon or knight the defence don't cost anything.
all actions the dragon perform must be performed before you roll the dices. (dragon actions -> roll -> trade -> build)
the field, where your dragon dwells, will spend all recources to you, if there is one or more hostile settlements or citys.
major citys or ceremonial castles didn't spend recources to you, they are except of this rule.
hostile building projects aren't allowed to the field, where your dragon dwells, so, in example, if u use the dragon wise, you can supress hostile longest tradeyard(?) projects (sorry, i don't know, what "längste Handelsstraße" is called in english).
the three knights are called armsmen, pike men and dragonslayer, based on there strength.
if a dragon attacks a knight vice versa the opponents have each to roll one six sided dice.
the one with the highest points wins. the difference between the scores control the results.
in a tie must be rolled again.
the results reach from "put the knight to the next crossing" or "put the dragon one field away" to "the knight/dragon is slayed down". the dragon can only be killed by a dragonslayer. this will give you three winning pints and the game ends here. the player with the most winning points will win the game. alternative endings are welcome and will arise from the imagination of the players.
one other action from the dragon is to fight the babarians. the dragon counts as a level two knight. whe've tested a higher level for the dragon but this was a bit to overpowered.
the last stunt from the dragon are "the fire of destruction". like all other dragons of this world ( ;) ) our dragon can spit fire too.
the fire of destruction will const a high amount of recources and can attack settlements, citys and roads. the attacked road or building have to be the last one in a chain, so you can't fire down a road that is between other buildings. only a road from a segment of three or more roads can be destroyed, but left and right from the attacked road must be other roads, no settlements or citys.
the major citys or ceremonial castles can't be attacked by the fire of destruction.
the settlements or citys can't destroyed by one attack. they burn, but they are not destroyed. a player have to spend two recources, which where need to build up the city or settlement, to bring down the flames. the next attack from a dragon to a burning city or settlement will destroy the building. a burning city deliver only the half amount of recources and is worth a half amount of winnig points. a burning settlement didn't deliver any recources an isn't worth any winnig points. we plan to mark a burning building by a yellow ring of fire from a "Sorpresa". (überraschungs Ei zu deutsch)

Thank you very much for your translation, I've finally understood your rules. (easier than in german for me)
Actually, your rules are similar to mine.
Briefly, in mine, there's only one Dragon (and no Thief) and she's not "controled" by players.
The Dragon starts from a hexagone field named Dragon's lair and advance to his target on a 7 or the number on his Lair
- He flies (the most directly possible) to the Princess, who is placed on a field with a town on the first 7 + Barbarian (and will be placed anywhere else with another).
- The Hexagone where the Dragon is placed cannot be built, cannot evolved (except if there's a City Wall) and doesn't produce Ressources.
- When the Dragon is on his target, he attacks with a Strengh = 2/City and 1/Settlement around the hexagone. Knights can battle the Dragon in this case but not kill her. If they loose battle, they loose 1 level, the towns are considered Sabotaged, every player around have to give one card for the Dragon's Treasure and the Princess is kidnapped. In either case, the Dragon is placed on her Lair.
- Players can lure the Dragon by placing a Decoy(2 Sheep) on any hexagone. (they can kill the Dragon by this way, if they're strong enought)
- Players can pay 1 sheep / hexagone to advance the Dragon
- The Princess - placed on a field - gives an extra Commercial Item to the cities around
- The Princess - in the Dragon's Lair - will not survive very long time. Each time a 7 + Barbarian appears, she changes her position (she starts standing, then lying on the side, then on the back, and then in the Dragon's stomac). Another princess can appear
- Players can travel to the Dragon's Lair by building roads or ships. They can build Settlements and Cities there (only if the Dragon's out).
- Settlements and Cities around the Lair give an extra Commercial Item each time the number is on the dice (if the Dragon's out). When the Dragon's back, she sabotage every City around and destroyes Settlements.
- Knights can steal Items from the Dragon's Lair while she's out, but players will only have the benefit on the next turn.
- In the same way, they can kill the Dragon while she's in her Lair. In this case, the Dragon has a Strength = 2/City and 1/Settlement around the greatest concentration of the player (maybe it's hard to understand but it's a chance for a player who hasn't a lot of cities to win extra points).
- If the Dragon wins, the Knights loose one level.
- If the knights wins, the strongest knight free the princess (she stays with him, give him a extra Strenght point, and immunates him of changing side (a blue progress card - transfuge in french). the player also wins the Dragon Killer Card (2 victory points).
- Once the Dragon is dead, there's not more.
For that you'll need
- a Dargon's Lair hexagone (The Gold one)
- a dragon
- a princess
- a Dragon Killer card
I think I didn't forget anything, maybe some precisions ... if you want some, ask me.
I hope you'll enjoy it.
PS: I think it's better if you place the Dragon's Lair on an isle far away from the main island. |
